Competitive Team

Our competitive dance team serves dancers ages 5 – 18 years. Our teams danced nationally and internationally from New York to Florida to Las Vegas to the stage of the Sydney Opera House. Our dancers have gone on to join local high school programs and to successfully audition for the Orange County High School of the Arts. Our dancers have participated in collegiate dance programs and to graduate with dance degrees from major universities. Many of our dancers now dance professionally in the US and abroad.

Depending on age and integration, competitive dancers train between 5 and 20 hours a week. Our goal is to develop technically strong, well rounded, confident dancers and performers. Team dancers are trained in the disciplines of Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Contemporary, Lyrical, and Hip Hop, they have additional technique training through other specialty classes. We have an amazing staff of professional teachers who are accomplished dancers and phenomenal role models. RÊVE’s competitive dance program is a challenging but positive environment. We cultivate teachers who have strong aptitudes toward motivating, encouraging and progressing dancers.

RÊVE team dancers compete in 4-5 regional competitions a year and also have the opportunity to attend conventions to train with some of the best dancers in the industry. At the end of each competition season dancers showcase their competition routines for family and friends at the team dance recital.

Hip Hop

Hip Hop classes are inspired by urban culture and are some of our most popular dance classes. Each class is designed to allow students to let go and dance without being limited by rules of technique. Hip Hop dance classes are athletic and suitable for boys, girls of all ages and abilities.

Jazz has become one of the most popular dance styles in recent years, mainly due to its popularity on television shows, movies, music videos, and commercials. This type of dancing is energetic and fun, consisting of unique moves, fancy footwork, big leaps and quick turns.  Jazz allows dancers to showcase their individual style and originality. Each dancer interprets and executes moves and steps in their own way.  Dancers looking to excel in jazz, need a strong background in ballet, as it encourages grace and balance.

Ballet was one of the first genres of dance; it is the core of all dance training. All technique for other styles of dance is mastered in ballet class. Ballet classes create a dancer/performer who is centered, balanced, lengthened and physically graceful. Ballet also imparts skills like “attention to detail, mastery, form, harmony, precision, discipline, social grace and awareness of the group – all skills that help young people succeed in the adult world!

Ballet, Tap and Jazz Combo

This important combination class provides dancers with an essential foundation in the classic dance disciplines of ballet, tap and jazz. Dancers will work on poise, grace, strength and flexibility. They will execute skills that build stability at the barre and at center. The class will focus on ballet essentials including ballet positions, terms, foot work, leaps and turns. They will be introduced to the dynamics, timing and rhythms of tap and will learn about the importance of clarity in their tap sounds.

K-Dance is a Ballet/Tap/Jazz combo class that provides the important foundation for developing your child into a well-rounded dancer. With continued focus on Tap, Ballet and Jazz, this class provides greater emphasis on age appropriate technique and foundational dance sequences. Students learn in a performance based environment, emphasizing form and technique while learning engaging, age appropriate choreography and routines. With increasing skills, content and training time, K-Dance prepares our older preschool dancers for more advanced academy dance classes and team programs.

Twirly Bees

Toddlers love to dance! Twirly Bees class is a ballet/tap/jazz combo class. Kids enjoy 45 minutes of dance with music and song as the backdrop for a fun, yet structured dance class. Ballet teaches them grace and balance which is essential to dance. Tap challenges our toddlers’ auditory and fine motor skills while Jazz helps develop the coordination.

Tutsi Toes

Tutsi Toes provides 30 minutes of baby dance, with a parent by their side. Teachers incorporate music, singing and dance based movement into a fun, interactive dance lesson. Tutsi Toes gain balance, strength and flexibility through this early dance curriculum and enjoy many cognitive benefits through the memorization of songs, and the experience of auditory and physical patterns of dance.
